Björklingelåten

Björklingelåten is a tune that comes to us usually attributed to the fiddler known as “Gås Anders”, who lived in Björklinge, in the province of Uppland.   Some also credit “Gåsvikarn”, a fiddler from Väddö in Uppland.

The tune is a gånglåt, or walking tune.

To the left is a statue of Gås Anders that stands near the church in Björklinge.  It was made by Bror Hjorth, a prominent sculptor in Uppland.

Here is a YouTube video of a group of musicians (mostly fiddlers) playing at a fiddle festival.   Björklingelåten is the second tune on the video, beginning at 3:08.
