Hökörarn is a waltz by a fiddler from Jämtland known as Anders i Logår’n. His name was actually Anders Heljeback, and he lived in the little town of Oviken. He was a much-honored fiddler there, and composed many tunes himself, besides carrying other fiddlers’ traditions.
Though up in years, he was still actively playing in the 1960’s, and a recording of his tunes was still available 50 years after his death.
The title of the tune can be translated as “The Hay Driver”, no doubt in reference to a person taking hay in a wagon for storage in a barn.
Here is a YouTube recording of a northern Jämtland fiddlers’ team playing Hökörarn.
