Polka efter Alfred På Hultet

This Polka efter Alfred På Hultet is from the maritime province of Bohuslän, on the west coast of Sweden, bordering on Norway.  A fiddler there, Alfred Olsson, had the nickname “Alfred på Hultet”, referring to the landscape of where he lived.

The coastline of Bohuslän is dotted with hundreds of islands in an archipelago which extends into Oslofjord in Norway.

The tune can be played at different speeds, as a fast polka, or as a slower piece suitable for the dance called snoa.

Here is a YouTube video of some musicians from Finland playing the Polska efter Alfred På Hultet.
