Polka efter Emil Andersson
This Polka efter Emil Andersson is from the province of Västergötland, in the middle south of Sweden. Emil Andersson was an important fiddler in the establishment of Västergötlands Spelmansförbund (Fiddlers’ Association) back in the 1930’s. He was an active fiddler, mostly in partnership with Nils Eriksson, until his death in the 1970’s.
The tune is very well-known in the province, enough to be called an “allspel” tune. Visit Västergötland, and most fiddlers you meet will be happy to play it with you.
