This Polkett efter Dal-Jonke is a light polka from the province of Jämtland.
It is often used as the music for the traditional partner dance known as “Polka och Bakmes från Kall”. A “bakmes” is a turning step that goes counterclockwise instead of clockwise in old Swedish dances. they are found mainly in the northern provinces of Sweden.
To the left is a video of me playing the tune at the speed I usually play for dancing.
