\u00a0 This\u00a0Vals efter J\u00f6nsagubben<\/strong> is not by far the only tune attributed to this outstanding H\u00e4lsingland fiddler.\u00a0 He was born Olof Jonsson in the village of Undersvik in 1816, and died in 1899.\u00a0 \u00a0He was in his elder years when he got the nickname J\u00f6nsagubben.<\/p>

\u00a0 Among his fiddle teachers was the iconic From-Olle, who did much to influence central H\u00e4lsingland music.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The tune itself is a very danceable, flowing waltz.\u00a0 As such, it has fallen into the repertoire of fiddlers even far away from H\u00e4lsingland.<\/p>

\u00a0 Here<\/a> is a YouTube video of some fiddlers in Norway playing it for a dance.\u00a0 \u00a0It is interesting to see the various variations of the waltz that different couples are dancing.<\/p>
