\u00a0 This\u00a0Sk\u00e4nkl\u00e5t fr\u00e5n Dala-J\u00e4rna<\/strong> is one of the best-known “gift-giving tunes” in Sweden.\u00a0 \u00a0It is especially recognized for it being played my many of the outstanding fiddlers of Dalarna.<\/p>

A printed version of it was published in a book about the local culture of various towns in Dalarna.\u00a0 \u00a0There was a series, called “Med Dal\u00e4lven fr\u00e5n K\u00e4llorna till Havet” (With the Dal River from its sources to the ocean”),\u00a0 \u00a0The books contained photos, local histories, and music from the areas written about in each volume.<\/p>

This was from Book Seven, Boda & Bingsj\u00f6, published in 1919.<\/p>

One of the notable recordings of the tune was done by Bj\u00f6rn St\u00e5bi and Kalle Alml\u00f6f on an album in 1973.\u00a0 \u00a0The album, “Bergtagen”, was of music by pop musician Merit Hemmingson, who specialized in modernizing traditional music using electronic instruments and a synthesizer keyboard.<\/p>
