\u00a0\u00a0Skinnbr\u00e4cka med Lucku<\/strong> (Leather Breeches with a flap) is originally a polska from the province of Dalarna.\u00a0 \u00a0Somehow it became a super-popular\u00a0hambo<\/strong> tune for old-time dances all over Sweden.<\/p>

The yellow knee-breeches are the most ubiquitous part of a man’s traditional folkdress.\u00a0 \u00a0Some individual variations may be black or blue wool, but most versions are yellow.\u00a0 \u00a0Many men have them made out of cloth, but the yellow color is traditionally from the moose-hide they are made from.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The word “Lucku” refers to the flap in front.\u00a0 \u00a0Instead of a fly, the breeches have a button-up flap.\u00a0 \u00a0The American naval uniform for men used to have a similar construction.<\/p>

To the left is a picture of a couple at a folk festival in Sweden, where the man’s leather breeches are very evident.<\/p>
