\u00a0 As one can guess, Eklundapolska #3<\/strong> is the third of three tunes called Eklundapolska<\/strong>.\u00a0 They were composed by Johan Leonard Larsson<\/strong>, better known as\u00a0Viksta Lasse<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u00a0He was born in 1897, and died in 1987.<\/p>

Lasse was just a young boy in Viksta, Uppland, when he was taken on as protog\u00e9 to Hjort Anders Olsson<\/strong>, the great fiddler from Bingsj\u00f6, Dalarna, when he moved to the city of Uppsala.<\/p>

He composed Eklundapolska #1 when he was just 13 years old.\u00a0 Over the years, it was taken up into the repertoires of countless fiddlers all over Sweden.<\/p>

Many years later, he composed #2, which is well recognized by most Swedish fiddlers, but is a bit more intricate and is less played.<\/p>

Eklundapolska #3 was composed in Lasse’s old age, but has become one of the favorites of all his compositiions.\u00a0 \u00a0YouTube has dozens of recordings of the tune, from all over the world, and on many instruments.<\/p>
