This\u00a0Polkett fr\u00e5n Hammerdal<\/strong> is another tune that I never learned a more definite title for.\u00a0 I learned it from a fiddler, Per Persson, who at the time was living in V\u00e4rmland, though born in Hammerdal, in J\u00e4mtland.\u00a0 \u00a0He said this tune is one his father played.<\/p>

\u00a0 A\u00a0polkett<\/strong> is just what the name implies, a “little polka”.\u00a0 The dance is lighter than the fast polkas that we associate with the name, and the steps are smaller.\u00a0 \u00a0The walking\/turning dance called snoa<\/strong> is often danced to a polkett.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
