This tune was famously played by the great fiddler, Gås Anders. He was a smith, and lived in Björklinge, in the province of Uppland.
Gås Anders made a habit of using this as the final dance of the evening when he played for dancing, hence the name “Sista Polskan”, meaning “The Last Polska”.
His memory has been honored with a statue by the sculptor Bror Hjorth. It stands beside the road at the church in Björklinge.
