Slåttergillet
This little melody is a mazurka from the province of Västergötland. It is associated with a local mazurka dance variant called Kållandsömazurka.
Kållandsö is an island in the large lake Vänern in southern Sweden. On the island is one of the most interesting castles, dating from the 1200, Läckö Slott.
To the left is a photo of Läckö castle. It has been continuously occupied since it was built, over 800 years ago.
